Parents Organizing Childcare in Case of a Teachers' Strike

Page history last edited by Siobhan Burke 10 years, 2 months ago

We're PPS parents, and when we realized there might be a strike, it was clear to us that childcare was going to be an issue for many families (including us). We decided to set up a private workspace here at pbworks for parents from our kids' classes to self-organize temporary co-ops, shared nannies, etc.  We thought other parents might like to do the same for their kids' classes, hence this instructions workspace.

Instructions

If you'd like to do the same, here's what you do:

  • Create a new workspace by clicking here.  Don't make a new page in this workspace.  Instead, follow the pbworks instructions for starting a new workspace (use the "education" setting, which allows up to 100 users per workspace).
  • Make sure it's private so parents can share phone numbers and addresses
  • Name it whatever you like
  • Edit the front page in any way you like so parent have something to start wtih.  Here's a Template You Can Start With
  • After that, you can email the other parents in your kids class(es) to invite them to the workspace.

To improve these instructions, please request access to this space and make that change, or email Ted@TedSarvata.com with your suggestion.

To add workspaces to this list, request access to this page to do it yourself, or email Ted@TedSarvata.com and I'll do it.
